2 (750 milliliter) bottles of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon works well!)

1/4 cup brandy

1/4 cup maple syrup

2 cinnamon sticks

10 whole cloves

2 whole star anise pods (or a few drops of star anise extract)

3-4 inch orange peel slices



Combine wine, brandy, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and orange peel in the Crockpot.


Cover and turn the heat on low for 1 hour.


Serve warm with fresh orange slices and extra cinnamon sticks.
